Native American Religion
Wars with religious context/reasoning behind them often occurred because of things such as oppression, emotional compensation, and for the betterment of the tribe. Nonetheless, the ways in which natives viewed war differed from the ways in which the people they were fighting often did. Ie. they usually never went to war for material goods, the duty to spread slavation, or for numbers who would then turn into slaves. All in all, the spirit wars indicate the importance of religion to the Natives in every aspect of their lives.
